The communities that make up the San Juan Islands are made up of a diverse group of people. Both year-round and part-time residents, and a vast amount of visitors from far and wide help to make the islands a unique and interesting place to spend time. Throughout the San Juans, many retired artists and musicians, spending time cultivating the next generation of the arts, which is an important piece of the community on Lopez Island. In addition to the arts, there are other areas to explore including immersing yourself in the history of the islands at the Lopez Island Historical Museum, and learning more about the natural world through the Lopez Island Garden Club. The arts and culture facet of the community is dedicated to building a new generation of artists, allowing them to develop their skills and delight in their craft!
